About the event

Join one of our forest tour guides, Nathan or Kathleen, for a forest tour at New Jubilee Forest - only 30 minutes from downtown Edmonton. Each guide offers their own unique introduction to the forest and her inhabitants.

This will be a slow walk on wide dirt trails in the forest with some moderately steep slopes.  Please come prepared for the weather, with appropriate footwear, sunscreen, insect repellant, water, snacks, and whatever you need to feel comfortable in the forest.  Outhouses are available on site!  We will walk rain or shine, only cancelling for extreme weather, or if fewer than 3 people register.  If we cancel, you have the choice of rolling your tickets forward to the next tour, or receiving a refund.  If you need to cancel, we require 24 hours notice in order to offer you a refund.

Since time immemorial, Indigenous Peoples have lived on the lands of present-day central Alberta, the territories today of Treaty 6 and 7 as well as the Métis Homeland. The Institute for Contemplative Ecology respects the histories, languages and cultures of the diverse First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples of Canada; acknowledges their living here and wisdom embodied in their traditions and ceremonies practiced for centuries before the coming of colonialism and settlers; and are inspired by their achievement of living in a sacred ecology over countless generations.
